A lost earring

is like the yin without the yang

giving chronic separation pang

is like a little detective mystery

with its own conspiracy theory

lost in clothes or swept by maid

to crack I carried out a mini raid

scoured all corners of my closet

beneath the bed and the sofa set

poked & frisked my laundry bag

but it turned out no hopes to tag

vanished into thin air sans trace

as I went on a wild goose chase

fished for memories in my mind

But like each time, drew a blind

So, I was left with one of the pair

& an ache that won’t truly repair!

P.S.: Between the 11th and 13th centuries, over 10,000 Buddhist temples, pagodas and monasteries were constructed in the Bagan plains alone, of which the remains of over 2,200 temples and pagodas still survive to the present day.

Located in an active earthquake zone, Bagan has suffered from many earthquakes over the ages, with over 400 recorded earthquakes between 1904 and 1975 and a recent one in August 2016.
